Highlights:
- ITV’s new service aims to make TV advertising accessible for SMEs, overcoming traditional production costs.
- Sheepbridge Interiors and Travel House are the first brands to launch AI-generated ads, marking their debut in TV advertising.
- The GenAI option is part of ITV’s broader strategy to support over 200 new-to-TV brands each year.
ITV has introduced AI-generated TV ads for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This new service uses ITV’s creative process, generative AI tools, and professional voice-over artists to create commercials for SMEs. The platform claimed that it plans to create affordable and high-quality ads that will enable smaller brands to explore TV advertising.
Brands already using ITV’s AI-generated TV ad service
The first two brands to use this service are Sheepbridge Interiors and Travel House, both making their first TV commercials. The ad for Sheepbridge Interiors, a furniture store in Northern Ireland, debuted on UTV on September 20th. Travel House, a travel agency in Swansea, launched its ad on ITV1 and ITVX for the ITV Wales audience on September 23rd.
Jason Spencer, ITV’s Business Development Director, said that the high costs of traditional ad production prevent small businesses from advertising on television. He stated, “Too often the cost of making an ad is a barrier for brands looking to breakthrough and test TV.” He added that the company is using GenAI to make TV advertising more accessible to SMEs. “We are constantly innovating to find better ways to help brands grow.”
The GenAI ad production option is now available to all new SME advertisers. It builds on ITV’s existing creative services, which already support over 200 new-to-TV brands annually.
