Google Ads has introduced an update that enables advertisers to create remarketing lists based on viewers of specific YouTube creator videos.

Georgi Zayakov, a Senior Consultant in Digital Advertising at Hutter Consult, was one of the first to spot this update. He shared on LinkedIn, “I just discovered that when creating a remarketing audience for YouTube Viewers you have the option to ‘Select a video made by a YouTube creator’.”

Now, advertisers can go beyond their YouTube channels to target viewers who engage with videos from diverse YouTube creators.

What the YouTube creator-based targeting option provides advertisers

This integration provides access to non-paid view metrics, allowing advertisers to track organic video performance without additional costs.

Advertisers use view counts to create precise remarketing segments based on interactions with these videos. Brands could create more targeted campaigns based on mentions of their product or service during a video.
