Bluesky has announced a new feature as part of its 1.97 update. The platform is adding a dedicated video tab on user profiles. The company confirmed in the update in a post: “Bluesky 1.97 is rolling out now! User profile pages now include a ‘Video’ tab!”
The video tab will allow users to display all the videos uploaded to the platform. This includes original creations or content sourced from other social networks. On desktop, the new tab is displayed alongside existing profile options, such as posts and feeds.
This feature is part of Bluesky’s focus on video content, following a series of updates that align with the platform’s growing popularity. In September 2024, the platform introduced a feature that lets users upload videos. Recently, it added custom video feeds in its Explore tab, offering a layout similar to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels.
Additional updates in Bluesky 1.97
Bluesky has made other improvements in its latest update. These include a menu option to block users after reporting them in the DMs and the ability to delete conversations. It’s also updating its translation capabilities.
Bluesky’s recent activity on GitHub also hinted at future developments. Mockups shared last month showed that the company might be exploring a premium subscription plan.
